Community Organizations Can Apply For Block Grants

Big Bear, Ca, November 9, 2011, 8:00am – The County of San Bernardino is now accepting applications for the 2012 – 2013 Community Development Block Grant Program year.  Community or social organizations that benefit the financially disadvantaged can apply for the block grants.  Interested applicants can apply with the Community Development and Housing Department no later than Monday, November 21^st at 4:00pm. The City of Big Bear Lake participates in the program, and in February of 2012, the City Council will hold a public hearing to review eligible block grant applications and will then make funding recommendations to the County board of Supervisors.  The Board of Supervisors is expected to make final funding decisions in April of 2012.  The County of San Bernardino’s Economic and Development Agency (EDA) provides application packets on the web at http://www.sbcountyadvantage.com/CDBG.aspx
