Big Bear Lake, CA – October 16, 2014 – A plane crash was reported around 2 pm this afternoon just south of Highway 18 in the Arctic Circle area near Glory Ridge. At that time the road was closed for repairs. By 2:30 emergency crews were on scene as well as Forest Service fire personnel as a safeguard. The plane was reported to be a single engine Cessna registered in Tustin. Three people were lifted from the ravine then transported to Loma Linda to be treated for unreported injuries. Highway 18 remained closed during the rescue operations but was reopened sometime after 4:30. Big Bear Fire Chief Willis reported that there was no fire resulting from this incident.
