Big Bear, CA, February 18, 2016 – The Bear Valley Unified School District recognizes a need and desire throughout our community for a homeschooling/alternative education program. The District has the resources, teachers, and community support to create an outstanding program to serve our students and families.
New Superintendent, Dr. Mary Suzuki stated, “Many families are interested in homeschooling and/or an alternative educational option for their children and Bear Valley Unified School District is excited to step up to this challenge. A program such as this will better serve our families and community.”
The School District is interested in your ideas on how a homeschool program may benefit our families. The community is invited to attend a meeting hosted by the Bear Valley Unified School District regarding the creation of a new homeschool program. This meeting is scheduled for Tuesday, February 23, 2016, at 5:30 p.m. and will be held in the Cafeteria at Big Bear Middle School.
If you are unable to attend the meeting, but would like to share your thoughts with Dr. Suzuki, please contact Shelley Black at the School District Office to schedule an appointment.
