Big Bear, CA, June 5, 2015 – On Wednesday evening, during a Regular Board Meeting, the BVUSD Governing Board appointed Mr. Ron Peavy to serve as Interim Superintendent of Schools and Dr. John Niederkorn to serve as Interim Assistant Superintendent of Business Services for Bear Valley Unified School District effective July 1, 2015.
Mr. Peavy served as Superintendent for Bear Valley Unified from 1996 to March, 2004 and as Interim Superintendent from July 1, 2006 through November 20, 2006. Prior to the Superintendent position, Mr. Peavy served in Bear Valley as a teacher and a high school counselor. In addition to his years in Bear Valley, Mr. Peavy served Rim of the World Unified School District as Interim Superintendent of Schools and Superintendent of Schools.
Dr. Niederkorn served as Director of Business Services/Assistant Superintendent of Business Services for Bear Valley Unified from 1995 to 2004. Prior to the Director and Assistant Superintendent positions, Dr. Niederkorn served in Bear Valley as Principal of North Shore Elementary School from 1982 to 1988 and Principal of Big Bear Middle School from 1988 to 1995. In addition to his years in Bear Valley, Dr. Niederkorn served Vacaville Unified School District as Assistant Superintendent and Superintendent of Schools retiring in July of 2013.
The Governing Board and Administration of the Bear Valley Unified School District, would like to thank everyone, in advance, for their support of Mr. Peavy and Dr. Niederkorn during this interim period and also during this transition period.
