Big Bear, CA, January 28, 2015 – Shortly before 2:00 p.m. on January 27, deputies of the Big Bear Sheriff’s Station conducted a traffic stop in Sugarloaf. The passenger in the vehicle, a 24 year old white male, was known to deputies to be on active parole. The driver, a 20 year old white male, was found to have an active felony warrant in connection with a robbery committed earlier this month. During a search of the vehicle, deputies located a long gun and stolen property from a recent burglary. Both suspects remain in custody.
On January 21, following up on investigative leads, deputies of the Big Bear Sheriff’s Station executed a search warrant at a residence in Big Bear City and discovered a convicted felon to be at the location and in possession of a stolen firearm. The 29 year old white male was taken into custody and booked into the Big Bear Jail on multiple felony charges including being under the influence of a controlled substance while in the possession of a loaded firearm as well as outstanding misdemeanor warrants.
And back on January 17, deputies responded to a report of water theft at a vacation residence in Big Bear Lake. Upon arrival, they observed a garden hose and extension cord running from the reporting party’s property to the house next door. They also determined that the gas line had been tampered with. Through investigation, it was determined that a male and female subject had been squatting at the location since November and had also stolen personal property from the residence. Although the suspects were not at the location during the initial investigation, they were located during a follow up investigation and taken into custody on felony burglary charges.
