Big Bear, Ca, January 12, 2011, 8:00am- Long time Big Bear resident and real estate staple in the Big Bear valley, Bonnie Blue passed away last month due to her battle with cancer. Bonnie lived in Big Bear for over 40 years, and was the top listing agent for her company every year since 1990, and over the years earned many awards and broke several records in the real estate industry. Within the Century 21 Big Bear office in which Bonnie was the owner and broker, she served as a mentor and teacher to the other agents. Bonnie also began the free pumpkin patch for the Big Bear Community, providing free pumpkins at Halloween time, which has become a valued community tradition. Giving back to the community was of importance to Blue, who was always very generous in supporting youth athletic teams, and children’s activities within the valley. Bonnie is survived by her mother, father, sister, three children, and three grandchildren, and was preceded in death by her life partner of 37 years, Barbara Pickerell, who passed in 2007. A memorial service for Bonnie will be held on Thursday, January 12th, at 2pm at the Big Bear Lake Performing Arts Center. In honor of Bonnie donations can be made to the Visiting Nurses Association of the Inland Counties, who cared for Bonnie in her last days. To donate go to www.VNA-IC.org. Bonnie Blue was 69 years old when she passed.
