Big Bear, Ca April 20, 2011 8:00 am – Glenn Butcher grew up in Big Bear. When his father, Bob Butcher opened Butcher’s Block Hardware in 1980, Glenn grew up in the business. He started in the yard, drove a delivery truck, and worked the contractor’s desk before taking over as General Manager after his father passed away in 2007. Glenn and his knowledgeable staff have many years experience with the unique challenges Big Bear offers for builders and homeowners. Local contractor, Michael Beveridge believes the service Butcher’s Block offers saves his company money. “They deliver to my job site, choose the best lumber for my project, and their prices are good. Considering my time and the cost of gas, I do better buying from Butcher’s Block.” Glenn says, “We’re a family oriented business and we always want to give back to the community.” Their staff includes over 30 local residents. Butcher’s Block has been located on the corner of Big Bear and Summit Blvds since 1988. Their website says it well, “Above and beyond is our standard commitment to you.”
