Big Bear Middle School celebrated the unveiling of their new cafeteria with a ribbon cutting this morning, prior to utilizing the new facility for today’s lunch for the school site’s seventh and eighth grade students. BBMS Principal Julie Chamberlin tells KBHR that Bear Valley Unified School District personnel and school board members were on hand for the informal ceremony, during which time BBMS President Lexi Contreras and Vice President Olivia Olivo did the ribbon-cutting honors. Come November, Principal Chamberlin expects that the school’s new building, on the Boulevard at Georgia, will be open to students, so a ribbon cutting will be held at that time, to celebrate the unveiling of the new computer lab, media center, student store and four classrooms, all of which were funded by Measure Q.
