The Lighthouse Project will be making a presentation before the City Council of Big Bear Lake this evening, which is to be followed by Council discussion on non-monetary ways that the City can partner with the group, whose focus is to create a child-honoring community. This evening’s City Council meeting, to be held at 6:30pm in Hofert Hall, will also include the first reading of the City’s new ordinance to increase New Development Mitigation Fees. At their April 13 meeting, Council approved the increases to the fee though, as staff was directed to make some revisions, the updated ordinance will be read this evening, with adoption likely to take place at Council’s next meeting on May 11. If adopted at that time, City Council will not implement in 30 days but, rather, as of September 1, 2009.
