Big Bear Lake, Ca, September 7, 2010, 3:00pm – On Thursday September 2nd, hundreds of little feet ran laps on the Big Bear Elementary field for the 15th Annual Jog-a-thon. The students ran, walked, and skipped along the oval shaped courses set up for them, and the kindergartners ran earlier in the day on a smaller course in the front of the school. Parents, siblings, and friends showed up to support the students in their efforts. The Jog A Thon is Big Bear Elementarys major fundraiser of the year, and students were responsible for collecting sponsors for the amount of laps they ran. The child and the class that ran the most laps will be recognized later this month at an assembly, and the total number of laps ran by the children at Big Bear Elementary this year was 10,818.
