Big Bear, CA, April 1, 2016 – The Big Bear Lake Tourism Business Improvement District is a benefit assessment district that will fund marketing and sales promotion efforts for Big Bear Lake lodging and ski resort businesses. Ski resort and lodging business owners decided to form the BBLTBID in order to create revenues dedicated to marketing Big Bear Lake as a tourist, meeting, and event destination. The TBID was recently approved by the Big Bear Lake City Council.
The TBID took another step forward on Wednesday, March 30, as they elected their new 7 member board. Elected to two-year terms were Loren Hafen of Holloway’s Marina and RV Park, Nick Lanza of Big Bear Vacations , and Ryan Vasquez of the Frontier Resort . Charlie Brewster of Nottingham’s Restaurant and the Robinhood Inn, Jo Ann Cecil of Big Bear Luxury Properties and Bob Pool of Sleepy Forest Resort were all elected to four-year terms. Tammie Innocenti from Mammoth Resorts is the seventh member of the board.
The TBID expected to generate close to $2 million per year for promotion of travel and tourism specific to Big Bear Lake.
