US Bank Hosts Shredding Event

Big Bear Lake, CA, October 22, 2012, 10am – U.S. Bank in Big Bear Lake is participating in National Protect Your Identity Week by hosting a free shredding event from 9am until 1pm on Wednesday, October 24th. Protect Your Identity Week takes place nationally this week. The theme for this year’s Protect Your Identity Week is “Identity Theft Protection on the Go!” According to the Federal Trade Commission, the fastest growing crime in America today is identity theft. Nearly 25 million Americans fall victim to fraud and identity theft annually, with the financial toll near $50 billion. The best way for consumers to protect themselves from identity theft is to learn about it, and take precautions. Anything paper will be shredded. In addition to documents, individuals can bring files (without removing fasteners, clips and rubber bands) and soft and hard covered books. There is a limit of 10 boxes per customer.
