Big Bear, Ca, September 27, 2011, 3:00pm – Residents living within the Big Bear Valley can now take part in the Big Bear Valley Ambulance Membership Program. The program is similar to the LifeCare program that was offered to residents for many years. This service will give the residents of our valley added coverage if ambulance transportation is needed during an emergency. The program referred to as AMP will cover co-payments or partial coverage if insurance is not available to pay. The cost for the membership for a year is $65, and will cover you, your dependants, unmarried children under 25 and other persons listed as dependants regularly living in your household. According to the Big Bear City Fire Department, “this protection makes sense when you consider the average cost of an ambulance ride is $1200 to $1500 per use.” To sign up a simple application and agreement can be mailed or dropped off at the Big Bear City Fire Department. Call 585-2362 for more information.
