Big Bear Lake, CA, September 18, 2013 – Work is expected to continue on Big Bear Boulevard/Highway 18 in Big Bear Lake weekdays only between now and Monday, September 23rd between the hours of 7am and 12noon. Caltrans only released information about their notice of work on this section of the highway as of 6pm last night, after the project was well underway. Caltrans is placing fog seal on the existing roadway in an effort to seal cracks in the road in preparation for winter. The scope of the project starts and ends between Pine Knot and Stanfield Cutoff although they are conducting the roadwork in sections of the highway. Today’s roadwork runs the scope of Summit Boulevard to Stanfield. Commuters are limited in the areas they can turn based on the section or sections of the roadway under construction which will change daily. Additionally, drivers are cautioned to follow the rules of the road while under construction as California Highway Patrol officers are present to enforce the rules and cite drivers accordingly.
