Local Man Arrested For Assault On A Child

Big Bear Lake, CA, March 6, 2013 – On Saturday, March 2, 21 year old Cesar Pedroza of Big Bear Lake was home taking care of his three children when he called 911 to report that while he was feeding his 10 week old daughter formula, she stopped breathing. Medical examinations performed by Forensic Pediatricians at Loma Linda University Medical Center revealed that the baby had extensive brain trauma, which was suspected of being caused by abuse. On Monday, March 4, Detectives from the Big Bear Sheriff’s Station and the Crimes Against Children Detail conducted an investigation. Pedroza was subsequently arrested for Assault on a Child Causing Coma. He was booked at the Central Detention Center with his bail set at $500,000.
