Big Bear Lake, CA, January 16, 2013 – Enrollment is now being accepted for state-funded preschool programs that are in session at two elementary schools in the Bear Valley Unified School District operated by the San Bernardino County Superintendent of Schools for low-income families who meet eligibility requirements. The state preschool sites at Baldwin Lane and North Shore elementary schools offer comprehensive child development programs and hold classes three hours per weekday. Eligibility for the programs is based on a schedule of income ceilings for Child Care and Development Programs. To get on an eligibility list, please contact the classrooms directly by calling Baldwin Lane at (909) 584-4332 or North Shore at (909) 866-4232. A new regulation has been established for the 2012-13 academic year. State law requires that families with children enrolled in part-day state preschool programs be assessed a fee. Parents with children attending the preschool will be encouraged to volunteer in the classroom. For more information, contact the County Preschool office at (909) 777-0776.
