U.S. Geological Survey Records 1.6 Magnitude Earthquake in Our Area Today

We had a small earthquake in our area this afternoon. The U.S. Geological Survey reports a 1.6 magnitude quake was centered five miles east of Big Bear City at 1:19pm. The 1.6 tremor registered a depth of nearly three miles. Other recent quakes in our area were recorded on January 31 and 29, and registered magnitudes of 1.2 and 1.5 respectively. Our largest local earthquake in recent weeks was of a 3.6 magnitude back on January 10.
