Power Restored to Big Bear Valley After a Bird Hits Power Lines

Big Bear, CA, October 9, 2010, 2:20pm – According to John Dytesten of Bear Valley Electric, power was completely restored to all of the Big Bear Valley today as of 2:27pm.  Power had gone out at approximately 1:47pm today for isolated areas of the Valley including most of North Shore as well as pockets of Big Bear Lake and Big Bear City.  Bear Valley Electric crews discovered that a large bird of some kind had gotten tangled up the power lines behind North Shore Elementary School by Stanfield Cut-Off.  People fishing near the school had reported to Kbear that they heard a large pop prior to the loss of electricity.  That information was helpful to Bear Valley Electric in locating the source of the problem.
