This Season’s Snowfall Accumulation Is Over Eight Feet, and Above Average
Recent snowstorms over the Presidents’ Day weekend and into Tuesday have brought our local snowfall totals to well above average for this winter season. Avalanche Snow Removal Continues on Highway 18; Road Closed Until at Least Friday
CalTrans crews worked through the night to clear the Arctic Circle portion of Highway 18 of avalanche snow, though the road is still not open to motorists. More crews from off the mountain will be assisting in snow removal this morning and until the roadway is safe and clear. Snow Prompts Cancellations and Schedule Changes; Senior Center Closed Today
This week’s snow and subsequent road conditions have prompted some schedule changes. The Big Bear Senior Center is closed today, but will re-open on Wednesday at 9am.
