Today is National 401k Day

Big Bear Valley, CA, September 10, 2010, 4:00pm – Today is National 401k Day created to promote retirement savings education by the Profit Sharing/401k Council of America.  Participating in your company’s 401K plan is the first and most important step on your journey to retirement.  According to Jamie Wolcott, Personal Financial Advisor with Edward Jones Big Bear office, employees should consider enrolling in their company’s plan if one is offered, take control of your retirement savings by making regular deferrals and become educated about your plan and the investment options available to you by meeting with your financial advisor.  Investors should periodically evaluate how much they contribute to the plan and increase that amount whenever possible.  To better map your course towards retirement, contact your financial planner or human resources department at your place of employment.
