Big Bear Lake, CA, November 21, 2013 – There was a seamless transition in leadership over the weekend at the Big Bear Chamber of Commerce. Rachel Wade served her last day as Executive Director on Friday, November 15, and former Operations Manager Pam Scannell took over the next day.
Wade, who resigned from the Chamber to work from home, said, “I couldn’t ask for a better person to fill the Executive Director position.”
Scannell moved to Big Bear in 2006, joined the Chamber in 2009 as Membership Sales and Development Coordinator and was promoted to Operations Manager in 2012.
Scannell’s resume boasts 14 years in retail management, including time living in England working for leading UK retailer John Lewis. After guiding her unit there from loss to profit in nine months, she earned a series of promotions at the company, peaking as Branch Audit Manager.
Scannell’s retail expertise and her Chamber experience make for a winning combination, Cain said.
