Big Bear, Ca, November 10, 2011, 8:00am – This winter season the Kiwanis Club of Big Bear Valley will once again be collecting toys, clothing, and bedding for children in the Big Bear area. Gifts for Kids, which is in its 28th year of giving to the community’s under privileged children, will be collecting donated gifts for children, from newborns to 12 year olds, and distribute them valley wide to families in need. Last year 320 children received gifts from this program in the Big Bear Valley. Donation barrels will be placed all over the valley at various businesses starting next Monday, November 14th. The following locations will be collecting donations: Big Bear City and Big Bear Lake Fire Departments, both branches of First Mountain Bank, the Hallmark Store, US Forestry, Discovery Center, Union Bank, Starbucks, Phil’s Automotive, Doucette CPA Office, CVS, Kmart, Senior Center, Grizzly office, Grizzly Manor Café, St. Columbas Church, and the Public Library. Families who are interested in receiving gifts for their children need to register with the Kiwanis Club on November 20th, December 4th, and December 10th at the Fellowship Hall at the Big Bear United Methodist Church on North Shore and Holden from 2-5pm.
