Big Bear, CA, June 22, 2016 – Bear Valley Unified School District is sponsoring a program which provides free lunch for all children and teens, 18 and younger, all summer long. Funded by the USDA, the Summer Food Service Program reimburses providers, like BVUSD, who serve healthy meals to children and teens in lower income areas when school is not in session.
The program, being held at both Big Bear Elementary and Baldwin Lane Elementary, Monday through Friday from 11 am to 12:30 pm, has already begun and will run through July 29. Any child in the Big Bear Valley, 18 and younger, may take advantage of the free lunch program whether or not they are students in the school district or reside in the Valley.
