Every Dollar Counts Towards Hospital Care

Big Bear Lake, CA, February 19, 2013 – The Bear Valley Community Hospital Auxiliary is having their Annual Associate Membership Drive. The Hospital Auxiliary with the support of the Associate’s has enhanced patient and resident care. The assistance includes volunteer staffing of the Front Lobby and Gift Shop, as well as the ER Lobby. They also serve in the Skilled Nursing Facility with activities for the residents of the hospital. During the past year the Auxiliary was able to give the hospital $30,000 so they could purchase much needed new equipment to benefit hospital residents, patients, staff, and general facility needs. In addition they provided money to help Soroptimist International of Big Bear Valley with a successful Mammogram program offering free Mammogram screenings to women who are uninsured. The Auxiliary also offers monetary assistance for medications that the residents of the Skilled Nursing Facility can’t afford, and they also provide scholarships to local students.
