Department of Water and Power Meets Friday Morning to Amend Budget

Big Bear Lake, CA — The Department of Water and Power Board of Commissioners—which includes Chairman Steve Foulkes, Vice Chair Fred Miller, Bill Giamarino and Robert Tarras—will hold a special meeting tomorrow morning at 9am, as Tuesday’s regular meeting was adjourned due to lack of a quorum. Friday’s meeting at the DWP offices on Garstin Drive will include a budget amendment for fiscal year 2010/2011; the amended budget reflects a decrease in spending by $66,000, due in part to new data from the USDA with regard to $5.2 million in federal funds received by the DWP. The City of Big Bear Lake will soon be advertising for applicants to fill the fifth seat on the DWP Board, given the relocation of Commissioner Karen Dally.
