Big Bear Valley, CA — There are three public meetings scheduled for Monday, May 3, including the regularly scheduled first-Monday meeting of the Board of Directors for the Big Bear City Community Services District. When CSD’s Board of four—which includes President Marge McDonald, Vice President John Day, Rick Ollila and Jeff Newsome—convene at the CSD offices at 5:30pm, they will interview applicants, and ultimately appoint one, to serve as the fifth director on the board, filling the vacancy left by Barbara Beck, who resigned on April 5. Monday evening’s meeting, to be held at the CSD offices at 139 E. Big Bear Boulevard, will also include the introduction of proposed ordinances for increases to ambulance, sewer and commercial disposal user fees.
The Board of Directors for the Bear Valley Community Healthcare District also convene on Monday, for a special meeting at the hospital. Open session is scheduled to begin at 8am, and will include discussion on the CEO recruitment process, as former CEO Vi Colunga was terminated on March 22 following a paid administrative leave.
The Board of Directors for the Big Bear Municipal Water District also meet on Monday, as their regularly scheduled first-Thursday meeting conflicts with the ACWA conference in Monterey, which will be attended by MWD’s General Manager Scott Heule and three of the five directors. The 1:30pm meeting of the MWD Board, at their offices at 40524 Lakeview Drive, will include permit approval consideration for a bass tournament in September and the Rotary Club’s annual Fourth of July barbecue, as well as a possible bid award for the East Ramp repave and Deacon Station construction project.
