County Supervisors Designate $2,500 Each to Old Miners’ Parade and Chamber’s Economic Summit

San Bernardino County Supervisors are backing Big Bear with financial support, given two agenda items that were approved during this week’s County Board meeting. On June 2, Supervisors approved two allocations of $2,500 each from the Board Elective Projects budget. The first installment of funds was directed to the Big Bear Chamber’s Economic Summit, which took place at Northwoods Resort today. The second designation of $2,500 will be directed to the Old Miners’ Association in support of the 60th anniversary of the festivities celebrating Big Bear’s culture and, specifically, the Old Miners’ Days Parade, which takes place on Sunday, August 2. The Old Miners’ Days Parade is said to draw 3,000-5,000 visitors, and increases cultural and economic opportunity for those within Big Bear and the surrounding mountain communities. In other Big Bear-related news, County Supervisors on Tuesday also approved a motel business license for North Shore cabins in Fawnskin, and appointed Leonard Chaidez to the Sugarloaf Roads Commission.
