Big Bear Lake, CA – It was announced by Sara Russ the Hospital Board President, that Raymond Hino, Bear Valley Community Healthcare CEO has submitted his resignation effective on October 17, 2014. In a written statement Hino said “I want the entire Board to know that I am very appreciative to each of you for giving me the opportunity to lead this organization for the past 21 months.” Hino also explained that he accepted a new C.E.O. position in Northern California. “This is a rare opportunity to open a new hospital from the ground up within driving distance of my home in Mendocino where my wife has lived to take care of an aging parent,” Hino added, “It was a difficult decision to leave Bear Valley Community Hospital because I love this hospital, the community, and I have made so many friends here”
Board President Russ said, “Ray was the right person for CEO at Bear Valley Hospital when he agreed to come on board in 2013.” According to Russ, he was the leader the District needed during a critical time. “Not only did Ray successfully eliminate a $3 million deficit in two years, he also led the District to achieve our critical access hospital designation, establish our new swing bed program, and helped pass the recent parcel tax that will provide $11 million in funding to the District for the next ten years,” said Russ, going on to say that “we wish Ray the very best, he did an amazing job”
