sanbernardino-thumb1Homeowners are reminded that, by week’s end, property taxes are due. San Bernardino County Tax Collector Dick Larsen says that there are convenient ways to make this second property tax installment, including online at MyTaxCollector.com or over the phone at 909/387-8308. Property taxes that are mailed must be postmarked on or before Friday, April 10 to avoid a 10% delinquent penalty and $10 fee. In San Bernardino County, Larsen’s office says that more than $2 billion annually is collected in property taxes. For every property tax dollar collected, the County receives 11%, cities receive 9%, schools receive 44%, special districts receive 11%, and redevelopment agencies receive 24%.
