Firefighting crews from the U.S. Forest Service are currently attacking a small fire in the Big Bear Valley, located on Gold Mountain, just north of Baldwin Lake. New Snow Makes for 1-2′ Base at Bear Mountain; Dense Fog Likely in Portions of San Bernardino Mountains
Big Bear Mountain Resorts report that they have received half an inch of new, fresh snow since about 3am this morning and this, coupled with snowmaking in recent weeks, makes for a snow depth of 1-2 feet at Bear Mountain, which remains open through the weekend for skiing and snowboarding.
