Big Bear Valley, CA — For water customers of the Department of Water and Power, water-use restrictions will be implemented over the Fourth of July holiday weekend, to allow for adequate water flow should it be needed for fire suppression. No outdoor watering will be allowed on Saturday, July 3 and Sunday, July 4—with the exception of new plants and shrubs (which may be watered after planting), the outdoor watering restriction over the weekend applies to all DWP customers, which includes the areas of Big Bear Lake, Sugarloaf, Lake Williams and Fawnskin. In addition to the two-day hold on outdoor watering, Stage I (and II) water restrictions are in effect for the summer season, meaning outdoor watering is to be done either before 9am or after 6pm, and only on the calendar dates that correspond to your address. If your street number ends in an odd number, you are allowed to water on odd days (such as today, the 29th), whereas households with even street numbers are asked to do their outdoor watering on even numbered dates. For questions on this weekend’s outdoor watering restrictions, or information on water conservation in Big Bear, call the DWP at 866-5050.
