Lifesaver Ribbons Awarded

Big Bear Lake, CA, February 15, 2013 – Recently, Chief Jeff Willis recognized six firefighters with their Lifesaver Ribbons at the Big Bear Fire Authority meeting on February 5, 2013.  They are Joey Webb, Luke Wagner, Brian Parham, Andrew Crane, Brandon Willis, and Jim McDaniel.  The firefighters responded to a man down call at the Tennis Ranch during the month of August last year.  Assessment of the gentleman indicated no signs of life and no bystander CPR in progress.  Chest compressions and ventilation were initiated, medications administered, and cardiac shock was given via an automatic external defibrillator. The patient was taken to St. Mary’s Hospital for stent surgery. The gentlemen is doing well and is planning a trip to the Big Bear Fire Department where he will have lunch with the firefighters who saved his life.
