Big Bear, CA, November 30th, 2015 – At midnight on the first of December, the Who’s Who of Big Bear Valley nonprofit organizations will participate in a 24-hour web-a-thon to benefit Give Big San Bernardino County, in advance of the International Day of Giving on December 2nd.
The inaugural Give BIG web event was held in May of last year. Nearly $550,000 was donated by over two thousand unique donors making 3,533 donations. Tax-deductible donations will benefit efforts to combat hunger and homelessness and provide opportunities for those with disabilities.
The Give Big Campaign is also working with the Big Bear branch of the American Association of University Women, raising funds for its Tech Trek program. The local AAUW branch will send girls to Science, Technology, Engineering and Math (or STEM) camp this summer at a college campus. More than 100 nonprofits from across the county, and at least 11 Big Bear Valley organizations will participate in this year’s campaign, with training in the use of social media, marketing, donor cultivation and follow-up.
