Flash Flood Watch Continues Through 2pm; Rain, Wind and Fog Expected on Wednesday

With continued rain expected in our area today, the National Weather Service has extended our Flash Flood Watch until 2pm, which should serve as a precaution for those living in and below burned areas as there is a threat of mudslides and debris flow. Light to moderate rainfall is possible in portions of the San Bernardino mountains, and the storm is also expected to generate strong, gusty winds and local dense fog in the mountains. Public safety officials and crews from San Bernardino County will be monitoring weather conditions for the duration of the storm, and will be ready with equipment, should it be needed to clear roadways. The Department of Public Works has also prepositioned electronic message boards in the areas of the Sheep, Oak Glen, Pendleton, Butler #2, Old Fire, and Grass Valley fire areas to notify residents of flooding; the County reminds not to drive where water is over the road as floodwaters can rise rapidly and sweep a car and its occupants away.
