Last night’s business of the Community Services District was wrapped up in 20 minutes, before the Board of Directors entered into closed session (from which there was no reportable action). During the regular CSD Board meeting (August 3), two employees of the district were recognized for their service. Ken Booth has been an employee for five years and, said CSD General Manager Mike Mayer, “The district is very fortunate indeed to have a professional like Ken Booth as our network administrator.” The Water Department’s Ralph Musella was also singled out for his 25 years of service to CSD. Of Musella’s role as a meter lead worker, Mayer noted, “Ralph handles service calls efficiently, which results in many positive comments from our customers.” Though there was only one action item on the agenda—the approval of minutes for the July 20 meeting (which were approved)—President John Day did give an update on the Draft Water Master Plan on behalf of the Water Committee he co-chairs with Rick Ollila. Day said that the Water Master Plan is a very detailed document–detailing potential future water usage, evaluation of Valley-wide water supply, and CSD’s water infrastructure in nearly 300 pages—and, per his prepared statement, “The District originally thought that it could complete its review in early August. However, considering the detailed level of analysis provided in the document and the fact that this document will guide CSD in making long-term strategic decisions, it is now expected that the very detailed evaluation required of this draft document will take considerably more time to complete.” Recognizing that the material is sensitive to not only CSD, but the entire Valley, CSD plans to share their water document upon completion of review, which will likely be in September.
