Forest Service Crews Continue Battling Peak Fire, Surveying for Additional Lightning-Sparked Fires; No Fires in Big Bear Valley and All Roads Are Open

A freak accident involving a large Jeffrey pine tree which fell on a single moving vehicle on Catalina Road in Big Bear Lake at approximately 11:10 am this morning resulted in the death of the driver, the solo occupant of the car. Highway 330 Re-Opens
Highway 330 has re-opened after being temporarily closed by the U.S. Forest Service due to fire activity near the highway below Running Springs.
