This weekend’s blustery storm brought over an inch of rain to the Big Bear Valley and at least two inches of snow; severe weather also prompted the closure of Highway 18 in the Arctic Circle area, due to slides in the roadway. Wet Weather Results in Snow Atop Ski Resorts; No Chain Requirements Within Valley as of Friday Morning
We’ve received some rain overnight here in the Big Bear Valley but, atop the resorts, this weather resulted in up to an inch-and-a-half of fresh snow for Bear Mountain and Snow Summit, which now have over a dozen chair lifts open between them.
