Best places for viewing – From a Boat – Rent or launch your own boat to get the best view of the show on the lake. Plan to launch at the public ramps at least 1 1/2 hours before the start of the show, especially if you need an inspection. Bring blankets and jackets because it can get chilly. Make sure your running lights work prior to departing and you have an anchor. From the shoreline as long as you can see the center of the lake in the general vicinity of the Big Bear Lake Solar Observatory.
Bringing personal fireworks to Big Bear is illegal
Big Bear boosts one of the best fireworks shows in Southern California. The reason we are able to accomplish this is because of our unique lake, giving us the perfect venue to shoot off larger and more spectacular shows, but it also gives our spectators a wider area to view them on both the north and south shores. Did you know the fireworks are actually shot off from a floating barge in the middle of the lake? In addition to our unique venue for the show, Fireworks on the Lake is coordinated through a partnership between the Rotary Club of Big Bear Lake, City of Big Bear Lake, and Big Bear Chamber of Commerce. However, it is the Rotary Club of Big Bear Lake that provides all of the people power to make the show happen. Thousands of hours are donated making the Big Bear Lake fireworks show one of the best in Southern California.
