The Municipal Water District has noticed an increase in traffic—not in boats on the lake, but vehicles attempting to drive on the lake bottom along the shoreline, especially in the Stanfield Marsh area at Baker Pond. Quagga Mussel Threat to Big Bear Lake May Prompt New Regulations by Municipal Water District
The continued threat of the invasive Quagga Mussel may prompt some additional boat launch ramp regulations and increased lake permit fees in the 2009 boating season.
