Red Flag Warning in Effect For Most of Southern California

Big Bear, Ca, October 26, 2011, 3:00pm – Residents of the Big Bear Valley and surrounding areas should know that the National Weather Service has issued a Red Flag Warning for the San Bernardino County mountain areas, Riverside and San Bernardino valleys, Santa Ana Mountains, and the Orange County coastal areas. The Red Flag Warning is for high winds that are set to begin this evening and last through till tomorrow afternoon, and for decreased humidity in these areas. Residents are encouraged to be fire safe, and to be aware of high winds. While the Santa Ana winds bring warmer temperatures to the lower elevations, the Big Bear area has experienced a drop in temperature. While it is colder in the Big Bear area, residents are still encouraged to take care when using outdoor barbeques, disposing of ashes from fires, and putting out cigarettes.
