U.S. Geological Survey Records 1.6 Magnitude Earthquake in Our Area Today
We had a small earthquake in our area this afternoon. The U.S. Geological Survey reports a 1.6 magnitude quake was centered five miles east of Big Bear City at 1:19pm. The 1.6 tremor registered a depth of nearly three miles. Other recent quakes in our area were recorded on January 31 and 29, and registered magnitudes of 1.2 and 1.5 respectively.
