UPDATE 2/23 10:00AM: In Custody Death Investigation of Male Arrested for Sexual Molestation of a Minor; Additional Victims Suspected

UPDATE: On Wednesday, February 22, 2017 at 4:20 a.m., the jail deputy was conducting his observation logs when he saw Todd hanging from the bars of his cell, with his shoelaces tied around his neck. The deputy quickly cut the shoelaces from his neck and called for medical aid. Medical personnel responded and pronounced Todd dead at the scene. Todd was housed alone in the cell. Sheriff’s Homicide Detail responded and are conducting the investigation. Riverside County Coroner will conduct the autopsy to determine the cause of death. SIBBV “Live Your Dream” Awards

Soroptimist International of Big Bear Valley celebrated five local women at the annual “Live Your Dream” Awards which provide scholarships for education and training in the applicant’s field of choice.  The February 16th ceremony presented a $1500 scholarship to Valarie Gonzalez as Soroptimist International’s Big Bear 2017 “Live Your Dream” Award Winner. BVUSD Appoints New Board Member

Mom & Dad Project Receives Grant to Provide Free Car Seats

Big Bear, CA, January 26, 2017 – In August of 2016, Bear Valley Community Healthcare District’s Mom & Dad Project applied for a grant to provide car seats to help parents and caregivers abide by the new car seat law effective January 2017.
