Big Bear Greenthumbs seek Volunteers for 2017 Season

Big Bear, CA – The U.S. Forest Service and their partner, the Southern California Mountains Foundation, are seeking volunteers of all ages who would enjoy working both in the forest and in their commercial size greenhouse to benefit the ecological restoration program. For over 20 years, Volunteers in the USFS Greenthumbs Program have restored disturbed lands across the San Bernardino National Forest. Search Warrant Leads to Arrest for Child Pornography

Big Bear City, CA – Shortly before noon on Wednesday, April 5, deputies and detectives of the Big Bear Sheriff’s Station executed a search warrant at a residence in the 800 Block of S. Central Lane in Big Bear City. The search warrant was obtained as part of an ongoing investigation into possession of child pornography. The suspect, identified as 63-year-old Thomas Goede, was found have sexually explicit photographs of minors on his personal cell phone. Sugarloaf Resident Arrested for Possession of Stolen Property and Drug Paraphernalia

Big Bear, CA –  On Monday, April 3, at about 2:00 a.m., Deputy Llamas from the Big Bear Station contacted 26 year old Robert Allen Standard at a business located in the 100 block of Maple Lane in Sugarloaf. Standard was found to be in possession of several coins that appeared to belong in a coin collection and not used for currency.
