San Bernardino, CA, September 28, 2016 – On Sunday, Sept. 25, at about 8:15 p.m., firefighters from San Bernardino County Fire and the US Forest Service responded to a reported vegetation fire in lower Waterman Canyon in San Bernardino. Arson Registrant Arrested Near Blue Cut Fire

The officer contacted the subject, later identified as Larry Missirilian, and discovered he was on active parole and was an arson registrant. The officer notified the sheriff’s department and Deputy Sandoval from the Central Station responded to assist. Sugarloaf Residents Arrested on Charges of Meth For Sale

Big Bear, CA, January 21, 2016 – Shortly after 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, January 19, Deputies of the Big Bear Sheriff’s Station served a search warrant at a residence in the 300 block of Spruce Avenue in Sugarloaf, in connection with an ongoing criminal investigation. Two male subjects, identified as 20-year-old Riley Foust and 22-year-old Tyler Olson, were at the location at the time the warrant was served. During execution of the search warrant, Deputies located and seized methamphetamine and paraphernalia consistent with drug sales. Big Bear Lake Man Arrested for Assault With a Firearm

Big Bear Lake, CA, April 22, 2015 – Shortly before 10:00 p.m. on April 20, deputies of the Big Bear Sheriff’s Station responded to a report of a gunshot heard in the area of the 500 block of Temple Lane in Big Bear Lake. A witness reported that after hearing the gunshot, a male subject was observed standing on his porch and yelling threatening statements at his neighbor. The male subject, later identified as Ronald Argelander, then went back into his residence and continued yelling at the neighbor through an open window. Deputies arrived on scene and attempted to make contact with Argelander by using a public address system. At first, Argelander was unresponsive to deputy commands, but then became cooperative after deputies were able to talk him out of his house. Argelander was taken into custody without incident. Deputies recovered the weapon at the scene. A search of the area was conducted and no damage was found to any surrounding property. A criminal history check revealed that Argelander is a convicted felon and prohibited from owning or possessing a firearm. Ronald Argelander was booked into West Valley Detention Center on felony charges of assault with a firearm, gross negligence with a firearm, criminal threats, and being a felon in possession of a firearm. Accused Child Molester Faces Arraignment Today

Big Bear Lake, CA, July 11, 2013 – The County District Attorney’s Office filed a criminal complaint yesterday against a suspected child molester living in Big Bear Lake. Twenty-eight-year-old Samuel Kardos faces six felony counts of lewd or lascivious acts with a child and two counts of sex or sodomy with a child under 10 years old.  At the time of his booking, Kardos was already in custody at West Valley Detention Center on unrelated charges, and he’ll remain in custody there in lieu of $2,000,000 bail. An arraignment hearing in this matter is set for today at San Bernardino County Superior Court. Big Bear Sheriff’s Deputies began their investigation on June 15 in response to a report. The victims underwent forensic examinations at the Children’s Assessment Center in San Bernardino. Detectives allege that Kardos molested the two female juveniles on multiple occasions over a period of several months in 2012.
