Elite Cheer Thanks Community

Big Bear Lake, CA, October 8, 2013 – The newest Lighthouse Project Affiliate is Big Bear Elite Cheer, which has begun their first year of training and competition led by Jamiee Smith. The program is designed to help children develop self discipline, teamwork, respect for authority and good sportsmanship, along with the basics of cheer leading. The organization just held a raffle fundraiser, and with the help of the community, they raised $5,411 to help pay for practice facility fees and competitions. The raffle winners were Tim Brigham, Ruth Manriquez, Linda Pawinski, Priscilla Guillen, and K. Hughes. Raffle Sponsors included Stater Bros, ARCO, Old Country Inn, Sonora Cantina and Butchers Block. Currently, 54 children are enrolled in Elite Cheer and divisions of children are separated by age. Stater Bros. Charities supports Heart & Stroke Association with six-figure check

Big Bear Lake, CA, June 5, 2013 – Throughout National Heart Month in February, Stater Bros. Charities partnered with the American Heart & Stroke Association to help stop two of America’s leading killers. Today, Staters will present a check for $364,901 to the Association at store #120 in Yucca Valley (58060 29 Palms Highway), supporting its cutting-edge research and lifesaving  educational programs. Stater Bros. Charities is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization that uses funds raised throughout the year from customers and suppliers to support critical needs in the communities where Staters employees live and work.  The supermarket was founded in  Yucaipa, and has become the largest private employer in San Bernardino County.
