Motorcycle Accident With Major Injuries Below Running Springs

Running Springs, CA – On Thursday, February 9, at approximately 3:40 pm, Arrowhead Area officers responded to the scene of a traffic accident on SR-330, south of Lower Fredalba Road. Mr. Robert Thompson, 34 years old, and a resident of El Paso, Texas, was riding a yellow, 2003, Victory Freedom Motorcycle, southbound on SR-330, south of Lower Fredalba Road. Overturned Dumptruck Closes SR-330 For Several Hours Yesterday

Big Bear, CA, August 24, 2016 – Yesterday, at approximately 8:40 am, Police Officer A. Gunnoe, was traveling northbound on SR-330 when he observed a three axle Peterbuilt dump truck traveling southbound on SR-330 at 40 to 45 MPH, smoking from all of its wheels. Officer Gunnoe turned around and attempted to catch up to the dump truck. As the Officer was approaching, he observed the dump truck through a cloud of smoke and dust starting to travel sideways on the highway. Consequently, the dump truck overturned onto its right side and slid into a white, 2004 Toyota Sienna, traveling northbound. Officer Gunnoe stopped and walked over to the dump truck and found the driver, a 52 year old resident of Fontana, California, inside of the cab. The victim was then extricated by Officer Gunnoe and a passerby though the windshield of the dump truck. The truck driver sustained minor injuries and was transported to Arrowhead Regional Medical Center. The driver of the Toyota was not injured and was able to drive his vehicle home. The dump truck was loaded with asphalt and spilled its load across both lanes of the highway. Lakewood Woman Killed In Collision On Highway 330

San Bernardino, CA, June 27, 2012, 8:00am – A car crash on State Route 330 took the life of an 18-year-old Lakewood woman on Friday morning, June 22, 2012. The impact caused the vehicle to overturn and eject Rebecca Green, who was pronounced dead at the scene of the accident. She was a passenger in a Ford Focus driven by 24-year-old Kenneth Blow, Jr., also of Lakewood. It is unknown why the vehicle drifted off the road out of control according to the CHP. The driver and two other passengers in the vehicle were injured and taken to area hospitals. Although the cause of the collision is under investigation, in a news release the CHP says alcohol and speed may have been contributing factors. The California Highway Patrol would like to remind motorists to wear seatbelts, don’t drink and drive, and don’t text while behind the wheel.
