Bear Mountain Opens Friday

Big Bear, CA, November 24, 2016 – Both Bear Mountain and Snow Summit have been blowing snow for more than a week now and Big Bear Mountain Resorts have announced that Bear Mountain will open Friday at 8:30 am with top to bottom runs on chairs 9 and 7. Big Bear, CA, November 18, 2016 – Snowmaking has begun! On Wednesday, November 16, the snow guns at Bear Mountain Resorts fired up to take advantage of several days of cold weather. The conditions, dry and cold, are exactly what the resorts need to get a good start on their base. Sheriff’s Aviation Conducts a Hoist Rescue at Snow Summit

Big Bear, CA, August 2, 2016 – On Saturday, July 30, at approximately 10:40 a.m., Sheriff’s Air Rescue 07 was dispatched to the Snow Summit Ski Resort to assist the San Bernardino County Fire Department regarding an injured mountain biker. The victim, Jamie Adamson, was riding her mountain bike near the ski resort when she fell from the bicycle. During the fall, Adamson suffered major injuries and was unable to walk. Fire Department personnel arrived and located Adamson before the crew arrived. The personnel determined Adamson would need to be hoist rescued due to her injuries and the remote location....
