Moonshine & Mayhem Dance Contest

Big Bear Lake, CA, February 12, 2013 – Support your favorite Big Bear Charity in winning the Moonshine & Mayhem Dance Contest for Charities by taking beginning Two-Step & East Coast Swing dance lessons. Lessons will be given by dance contest contenders Lisa Patterson & Jonny Bresnahan and will start from the absolute beginning and enable you to get out on the dance floor by the Moonshine & Mayhem event on March 3rd.  Two-Step will be taught on Tuesday, February 12th and East Coast Swing on Tuesday, February 19th at Chad’s Place on Village Dr. from 5:30pm – 7pm (registration begins at 5pm).  Come to one or both sessions.  Cost is a donation of $10 per person at the door (equal to 10 “votes” in the dance contest) to your favorite Dance Contest Charity/Dancing Couple combination. Big Bear, CA, March 3, 2012, 3:00 pm – Over 325 attendees kicked up their heels at “Moonshine and Mayhem,” the annual signature event for the Big Bear Chamber of Commerce.  Held on Feb. 25th, the event raised funds for multiple charities and organizations through its first-ever charity dance competition.Participating charitable organizations who benefited from the competition was the Old Miner’s Association, Lutheran Social Services, Meals on Wheels, Bear Valley Community Hospital Auxiliary, Big Bear Valley Historical Society, Big Bear Valley Hummingbird Project, AAUW/Tech Trek Program, the Lighthouse Project, Soroptomist International of Big Bear Valley, DOVES, and the Big Bear Valley Education Trust. “The Chamber does so much for our community, most recently getting over $100,000 in new freeway signs for Big Bear on the 10, 210 and 15 freeways,” said Gloria Meade, one of the evening’s “jailbirds”. Moonshine & Mayhem Event To Raise Money For Local Charities

Big Bear Lake, CA, February 17, 2012, 3:00pm – The Big Bear Chamber of Commerce is holding its annual Moonshine & Mayhem event on February 25th, 2012, at the Big Bear Lake Convention Center.  The Chamber has added a charity dance competition to the event that will help raise money for local Big Bear charities and the Chamber of Commerce. Fifteen dance couples will hit the dance floor and dance the Cowboy Swing, Two Step, and Cha Cha to raise as much money as possible for their chosen charities, which include the Hospital Auxiliary, Education Trust, Lighthouse Project, Historical Society, and many others. Lisa Patterson, Membership Chair and dance competition coordinator hopes the dance couples will include humor, parody, and comedic relief into their dance performances. She really wants people to have fun with the competition and try to raise as much money possible for local charities. All donors will get 25 raffle tickets for every $20 donated, which will go into the Chinese auction at Moonshine and Mayhem. Moonshine & Mayhem tickets are only $28 per person or private VIP tables of 10 are $350, and discounts are available for charities interested in purchasing a table. Dance Competition At Moonshine And Mayhem For Local Charities

Big Bear Lake, CA, February 3, 2012, 3:00pm – The Big Bear Chamber of Commerce is once again shaking things up at its annual fundraiser, Moonshine and Mayhem that will be held on February 25th at the Big Bear Lake Convention Center, by adding a new spin, some twirls, and possibly a few dips through a couples country dance competition. Up to 20 Big Bear couples will be partnered with local charities to dance at Moonshine and Mayhem and raise funds for the charities and the Chamber of Commerce. The dance competition is open to any couple interested in participating, and no prior experience is necessary.  A charity can also sponsor a couple if they want.   The cost to the couple is only $25, which includes two tickets to Moonshine and Mayhem, dinner for two and entry into the competition.  Local charities interested in participating by being partnered with a dance couple must donate an item to the Chamber’s event valued at $50-100.  The charity will receive a discount of $50 on a table of 10 to encourage more supporters to come to the event. Chamber Power Lunch Focuses on Moonshine & Mayhem

Big Bear, Ca, February 1, 2012, 12:00pm – The Big Bear Lake Chamber of Commerce is prepping for its annual fundraiser Moonshine and Mayhem, and this months Power Lunch will focus on the event.  The Power Lunch will be held at Nottingham’s in the Village on February 2nd, from 11:30am to 1:30pm, and “jail birds” for the Moonshine and Mayhem event will be announced, and chamber officials will report on their crimes.  For the past three years members of the community have been playfully arrested leading up to Moonshine and Mayhem, resulting in the jail birds needing to raise money for the Chamber to bail themselves out of jail!  Moonshine and Mayhem will be held on February 25th, and tickets can be purchased by calling the Chamber at...
