Military Sacrifices Honored Monday Morning

Big Bear Lake, May 25, 2014 – The public is cordially invited to join veterans and families of service personnel and first responders, past and present to participate in the procession and ceremony at Veterans Park. on Monday, May 26th. The Big Bear Valley Marine Corps League Detachment 1038 and The American Legion Post 584 will commemorate the sacrifices of the United States military personnel and those who have died in our nation’s service. The keynote speaker will be Sergeant Major Christopher Nagle, USMC, active duty, from 29 Palms, VMU-3, MACG-38. A native of New Haven, Connecticut, Nagle enlisted in the Marine Corps in September of 1992 and attended recruit training at MCRD Parris Island, SC. His personal decorations include the Meritorious Service Medal, Navy & Marine Corps Commendation Medal with one gold star and Navy & Marine Corps Achievement Medal with two gold stars. The ceremony starts at 10 a.m. with a bagpipe tribute performed by Dark Isle Piper, Tress Maksimuk. Happy 238th Birthday, Marine Corps!

Big Bear Lake, CA, November 9, 2013 – The public is invited to celebrate the 238th birthday of the United States Marine Corps tonight, in the company of veterans, families of past and present service personnel and the Marine Corps League Detachment. The program begins at the Elks Lodge (40611 Village Drive) at 5:00 pm with cocktails (no host bar) and a social hour. The Opening Ceremony will start promptly at 6:15, followed by dinner and the traditional cake cutting. Adding to the occasion will be music from the Mountain Marvellettes. Local Marines Celebrate 236th Birthday!

Big Bear, Ca, Novembe 8, 2011, 3:00pm – The United States Marine Corps will be turning 236 this year, and local current and veteran Marines and their families will be holding two celebrations this week.  On Thursday, the 10th of November, there will be a birthday party for the Marine Corps at Diamond Lils starting at 5:00pm.  All mountain Marines and their families are invited to join in the festivities.  On Saturday, the Marines will put on their dress blues for the Marine Corps Birthday Celebration Ball.  The event will be held at the Northwoods Resort with social hour starting at 5:00pm.  The occasion will be even more special as members of the Wounded Warrior Regiment will be in attendance for the birthday celebration.  Reservations are required for the Birthday Ball, and can be made by contacting Terry Porter at 866-5151.  KBHR wishes the Marine Corps a happy birthday, and thanks all service men and women, past and present for serving our...
