Free Concerts This Week Open to the Public at the 4th Annual Big Bear Lake Song Festival

Big Bear, CA, June 11, 2012, 5:00pm – The 4th Annual Big Bear Lake Song Festival returns this week to the Knickerbocker Mansion with two free evenings of music programs open to the public.  On Tuesday, June 12th beginning at 7pm the concert will feature songs by Kern, Rogers and Hammerstein, Bernstein and more with sopranos Elaine Fitzpatrick, on of the founders of the festival, Diane Sloan, Stephanie Thorpe and pianist Michelle Lee.  On Thursday, June 14th, the second free concert will feature American Folk songs by Celius Doughery beginning at 7pm.  Many of the performers will be from the University of Nevada, Las Vegas.  Tod Fitzpatrick, General Director of the Big Bear Lake Song Festival describes this week’s events.  Prior to Thursday evening’s performance, the Knickerbocker Manion Bistro will be offering a limited menu dinner for $25 beginning at 5pm.  Reservations are necessary for dinner by calling the Arts Council at 585-5916 no later than...

Big Bear Valley Arts Council Presents Wyatt Earp At Knickerbocker Mansion

Big Bear Lake, CA, September 15, 2011, 3:00pm – Wyatt Earp is coming to the Mansion, The Knickerbocker Mansion. Wyatt takes the stage for a one-man performance on Sunday, presented by the Arts Council of Big Bear Valley. “Wyatt Earp: A Life On The Frontier” features the famed lawman’s grandnephew, Wyatt Earp. He’ll be telling the family stories to present the insider’s view of a man who was bigger than life, Wyatt Earp, the lawman of  “OK Corral” fame. His story has been presented in various movies, but no one has heard the real tale that will be told this Sunday … stories of gunfights, outlaws, gambling and the true Wild West, heard from the man himself, Wyatt Earp. Big Bear Lake Song Festival Offers Three Free Recitals

Big Bear, Ca, June 8, 2011, 1:00pm – This week talented college students from across America have been taking part in the Big Bear Lake Song Festival.  In its 3rd year, the song festival brings students and high-level instructors from institutions such as the University of the Pacific, University of Nevada, Las Vegas, the Boston Conservatory and even an instructor from China.  The program was created by local’s Dr. Tod Fitzpatrick, and his wife Elaine Fitzpatrick.  Dr. Tod is an instructor at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas, and wanted to bring talented young people to Big Bear for an intense weeklong educational experience and mentoring opportunity.  The Big Bear Lake Song Festival will be offering three free song recitals featuring the highly talented instructors.  The first recital will be tonight and will feature four distinguished faculty artists at 7pm at the Knickerbocker Mansion.  The second recital will also be at the Knickerbocker Mansion tomorrow night at 7 p.m. and will feature festival participants in a lighter evening of musical theater and operetta selections.
